1.9. All signups will be listed as approved or declined at the end of the signup period.

 2. Sign up

2.1. Sign up period.
2.2. End of sign up period.
2.3. The tournament will start after the sign-up period closes.

3. Limitations

3.1. All games must be played on salpakanna.com, games may not be played live either.
3.2. All match communication must be performed, and all games must be played from the account that the player used to sign up’ Exceptions may be requested in special circumstances (e.g. account glitches). “The account” should in principle be the most known one of a player.
3.3. Each game must be a stand-alone game, meaning that in case a player plays the same opponent for another tournament at the same time, those games must be played separately from each other.

4. Other online useful information

4.1. Pairings will be made using Swiss Perfect.

4.2. Tiebreaks will be decided by wins vs tied participants.

4.3. All times used will be in Philippine Standard Time (UTC +8).

5. Disputes

5.1. A participant may start a dispute if:
- The participant suspects another participant is cheating or / and showing unsporting behaviour (see 6.3. and 6.4.), this does not necessarily have to be an opponent. An accusation should include evidence or at the very least proper reasoning in case evidence could not be gathered.
5.2. All disputes will be handled by the TC, the TC has the final say about tournament decisions/sanctions etc.

6. Behaviour and disconnects

6.1. Participants or / and persons who (intentionally) try to ruin the experience for others or / and are found guilty
of misbehaving including but not limited to needlessly dragging on with disputes that have been dealt with, may be disqualified or / and excluded.

6.2. Disconnects, in case a participant disconnects during the setup phase, or before at least 1 move was made, a replay will be automatically granted to this participant (max 1 replay per participant per game).

If a disconnect occurs after a move has been made, then the participant's opponent may decide to claim victory. The disconnected player may dispute the claim and the TC will use its discretion to determine the result. In case of a disconnect, the opponent is expected to make a screenshot which contains the board position to aid the TC in determining whether the game should be replayed.

We request the best of sportsmanship from each participant, this includes but is not limited to granting a replay if reasonable in a disconnect situation.

6.3. Cheating, includes but is not limited to:
- Using software to keep track of pieces;
- Using software to calculate the probability of a piece being a certain rank;
- Using spreadsheets or other forms of statistical information during the game;
- Using notes during the game (during the setup phase this is fine);
- Taking notes during the game, whether this is done on paper or using software such as notepad;
- Simulating the game in any possible way;
- Communicating with other participants / persons during the game  (not necessarily participants) regarding advice;
- (Repeatedly) breaking the game rules, this also includes the PhilGGO game tournament rules;
- Matchfixing;
- Falsifying game results, whether this is done by chat or modifying screenshots
- Faking a disconnect;
- Providing false information.
- Sharing false information.

6.4. Unsporting behaviour, includes but is not limited to:
- Name calling / insulting;
- Accusations without evidence;
- Faking a disconnect;
- Encouraging an opponent to surrender in a disrespectful manner.

6.5. Any of the aforementioned behaviour in 6.3 or/and 6.4 as well as other forms of cheating/unsportsmanlike behavior, whether it occurs during or between tournaments, can be used to deny entry - we want a clean and fair competitive environment and will do our best to ensure this.

7. The game

7.1. After the game has finished, both participants are expected to save the screenshot of the result screen (in case of a disconnect, only the participant who did not disconnect)
7.2. The screenshot should at least contain:
- Both participant's account names;
- The current time and date.
* Unclear, uncomplete, suspicious or lack of screenshots might result into a replay, to be decided by the TC
7.3. One of the participants (preferably the winner) sends the screenshot, the result in the private message to the TC.
7.4. Each game or match is a best of 1 (unless stated differently).

In order to gather the maximum of information for future use (stats etc.) The TC would appreciate to receive screenshots as much as possible.

8. Recording and sharing

8.1. A player may record his / her own game at any time. The TC would prefer that permission is given by the opponent, but since it is hard to tell if a game is being recorded, we can not require this. In case you wish to record a game, the TC would prefer that the opponent is informed.
8.2. A recording may only be published  in case there is an agreement from the opponent. In case a video is shown without permission, the TC will ask for the removal of the video in which case the participant must comply. (tip: put the agreement of the opponent on the video). Under publishing we mean uploading to a file server, transfering the actual file, or uploading it onto a service such as YouTube
8.3. A player violating 8.2 will receive a ban.

9. Goals
The TC strives to be a fun and fair competitive environment for all participants. Players who (intentionally) try to ruin the experience for others will be dealt with severely. The TC will do its very best to promote online tournament play by hosting this event and will strive to deliver a fun and enjoyable event for all. The TC hosts this event for this part of the community that wants to enjoy a challenge, learn or/and have fun.
